7 Lighting Tips Every Homeowner Needs to Know!
To make choosing your lighting easier and ensure you get beautiful fixtures worthy of your home, we’ve revealed the secrets and simple steps to find the perfect match for your happy home. Here are the 7 steps to choosing home lighting that every homeowner should know!
1. Style
Before choosing a lamp for any room, consider your home’s overall theme. Whether it’s Modern, Classic, Contemporary, or Luxury, define it clearly. Once the style is set, choose your lighting to match. This method alone will instantly make your home look 50% better.

2. Location and Purpose
Knowing where the lamp will be installed and what it needs to illuminate makes selection much easier. For example, if you are lighting a kitchen, using an Aluminum profile with Striplights under cabinets is a great way to shine light directly onto your workspace. If you are lighting a dressing area, choose wall lamps that shine light directly onto your face, ensuring there are no shadows—unlike overhead downlights which can create dark spots.

3. Size and Height Matter
You wouldn't put a 3-meter chandelier in a condo with a low ceiling, nor would a tiny lamp look right in a grand stairwell. Today, lamps are pieces of furniture that fill a space. The goal is to hang them at eye level to act as decor. Here are professional techniques for sizing:
-
3.1 Small lamps over an Island: Use 2–3 lamps (20–40 cm wide) depending on the island length. The bottom of the lamp should be 75–90 cm above the countertop (or about 180 cm from the floor).

-
3.2 Large/Rectangular lamps over an Island: Size should be 1/2 to 2/3 of the island’s length. Avoid exceeding 2/3, as it will make the room look cramped. Keep the same 75–90 cm height above the counter.

-
3.3 Large lamps over a Round Table: Size should be 1/2 to 3/4 of the table’s diameter. Maintain the 75–90 cm height above the table.

-
3.4 Round lamps over a Square Dining Table: The lamp's diameter should be 20–30 cm smaller than the width of the table. Hang 2–3 sets for long tables.

-
3.5 Rectangular/Long lamps over a Dining Table: Use the same 1/2 to 2/3 rule as the island.

-
3.6 Hallways: The lowest point of the lamp should be at least 210 cm from the floor to ensure clearance, and check that it doesn't interfere with swinging doors.
4. Lighting Color Temperature
Light color creates different moods. We recommend these specific temperatures:

-
Daylight (6000K): Best for offices or areas where you need to focus. (We recommend 6000K over 6500K for a cleaner look).
-
Warm White (3000K): Best for homes and bedrooms. Avoid 2700K as it can look too orange; 3000K is closer to halogen warmth and is more soothing.
-
Cool White (4000K - 4500K): A middle ground between Daylight and Warm White. It is bright and easy on the eyes, often found in malls.
5. Brightness Levels
Match your lighting to your design. Darker, moodier interiors suit low-wattage downlights (5W–7W) or track lights (12W). If you need full, clear brightness, use E27 bulb downlights at 8W–15W depending on your needs. The right brightness highlights your home's style.

6. Choose a Reputable Store
Don't risk your investment by buying from untrustworthy sources. Choose a store with a physical showroom, a long history, and reliable after-sales service. A good store offers warranties, replacement parts, and the chance to see the product in person to avoid the "not as pictured" disappointment.

7. Custom vs. Standard & The "You" Factor
You can change the lamp design from your interior designer's original plan. While custom-made lamps are an option, they are expensive for small quantities. It is usually better to pick an existing high-quality design.

-
A) Consultation: Take the lamp style you like and consult your designer to see if it fits the home's theme.
-
B) Budget: If budget is no issue, custom manufacturing is possible, but keep in mind that the most important thing is that you must love the lamp, as you will be living with it for years to come.
